To Pastures New

John 10-29 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:  and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. “

Yesterday we spoke on the blessed assurance that we have through Jesus Christ. He is the Good Shepherd and there isn’t a single thing anyone can do to a Christian to pluck them out of His mighty hand. Our future rests on His eternal goodness and on the finished work of Christ on the cross.

With that, we want to give our well-wishes to both Steve and Russell who are leaving the church after 5 years for pastures new. Steve will be travelling northwards to bonny Scotland to spend some time with his brother. Russell has now crossed to the sunny plains of South Manchester.

In regards to both of them, we pray that the Good Shepherd will bless their new endeavours in pastures new. It’s been a real blessing to have both of these men as members of Community Baptist Church, but we pray that God will lead them and keep them strong in the faith in the coming months and years. We pray that they’ll continue to feel that blessed assurance that we can only receive through faith in Jesus Christ.

A big thanks to Cathy for the fabulous send-off cakes. They were fantastic as always.
