Covid-19 Update

With many churches able to operate from this coming Sunday (5th July) we just wanted to give a short update on our current status.

As most of you know, we don’t own our building. We rent space from Bury Council at The Longfield Suite in Prestwich. As of now the staff at Bury Venues are not able to supply us with an opening date for the centre. So although under UK government guidelines churches are able to operate (with new guidance) from the 4th July, unfortunately we’ll not be able to restart our normal services until we get a further update from the Council.

This is an unfortunate position to be in. We would love to get things back up and running, although we are also aware the virus is still in the system and many people have had their shielding notifications extended to 01 August.

We will continue to operate in Covid mode with our weekly updates coming from Pastor. If you haven’t subscribed to those please contact Pastor Alan on the usual channels. Our updates give our weekly message, along with prayer requests and updated news.

Once we know any additional information we will update the website and Facebook page to let you all know what’s happening.

Thomas Haynes Bayly said “Absence makes the heart grow fonder” and that seems so incredibly true right now. Everyone at Community Baptist is just itching to be back together sometime soon. So please keep praying that the ongoing virus situation will continue to improve, that we won’t get a 2nd spike in the north Manchester area and that the Longfield Centre will be reopen as soon as possible.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths” Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)

It’s so easy to get frustrated but let’s keep our trust in the Lord. He will direct our paths just as the scripture says.
